Greenway to Castel di Lago

The Greenway del Nera is one of the easiest but also the most beautiful routes in the lower Valnerina area. Traveling towards the source following the right side of the Nera river, you will be able to observe the splendid setting of the Central Apennine mountains.

The village of Castel di Lago will be one of the stages of the journey; an enchanted place which in its toponym still bears the legacy of the ancient permanent floods that took place during the Middle Ages. The passage through the village of Papigno, the village “with white roofs”, is interesting.
