EXCURSION TO THE HERMITAGE OF MADONNA DELLO SCOGLIO

Regional Park of the Nera River.
An exciting crossing suspended between the Valnerina and the Piediluco Lake, to reach the fascinating hermitage set in one of the most evocative corners of nature in our region.

The luxury of the holm oak and Aleppo pine woods, the limestone outcrops, the richness of the undergrowth, the sounds of animals and the beauty of the views will be constant travel companions. Natural landscape and cultural landscape harmonize, generating an inexhaustible source of suggestions …

RING OF BUONACQUISTO MINES

Mountains of the Piediluco Lake.
Along the routes of the ancient road system to reach the castle of Buonacquisto and the nearby site of the lignite mine.

The itinerary takes us to a corner of land of great naturalistic value, on the border between the regions of Umbria and Lazio, made even more fascinating by the persistence of landscape elements that recall the different past eras.

Piediluco Lake Mountains – Nera River Park
On foot towards the fascinating ruins of the Rocca di Piediluco. We admire the complex structure, the different buildings corresponding to the complex historical events that have characterized the village. We immerse ourselves in a prestigious cultural landscape, with wonderful views of the lake and the wooded mountains that surround it.

The descent towards the village, with its characteristic stepped alleys up to the suggestive lakefront, to closely spot coots, grebes, mallards and other birds that populate the wonderful stretch of water and its silty banks …

La Rocca

MONTE CAPERNO AND THE MADONNA DELL’ECO

Piediluco Mountains – Nera River Park
The mountain sacred to Diana and sacred to the Madonna. The sacred and inviolable wood since the Italic era. Monte Caperno is the “echo mountain”, which faces the wonderful village of Piediluco from the opposite shore of the lake.

An easy climb immersed in the holm oak wood, accompanied by suggestive views of the different branches of the lake; all framed by gentle mountainous, rich plant essences and wild animals.
